Dear Christy I would like to know what date you took your oath? As I recall that when I and 120 other people were marched out on the center field of the old Met Satdium we’re called the Twins Platoons also. Or maybe I’m wrong and only half of us that day were sworn in to the Marines Corps! Now when I went too San Diego I was in the 3012 platoon in boot camp. I just have seen the thirty minute clip on the FSN about the Minnesota Twins Platoon and I don’t recall any of those names so there might be a problem, either I’m wrong or there might have actually been two platoons sworn in that afternoon? By the way I don’t remmber the final score of the game, that I was sworn in at cause in the 3rd inning they had us go to the Mpls Naval Air station til it was time to take off for San Diego. I maybe have things screwed up and if so let me know. I to lost good friends and comrades over there, and as I’m typing I’m looking at my Third Battalion Platoon 3012 Annual. The faces never leave my mind and I’ve made contact with quite a few ofthese past few yaers thru the internet. I do believe that I and some 100 plus people were sworn in on May the 28th 1967 I could be wrong, but I’d like you to check your records and see if one Charles D. Baker from Stewartville Minnesota was in your Platoon I may have missed it. Please give me a reponse at cdbake304@msn.com or Charles D. Baker 304 6th ave Sw Stewartville Minnesota 55976 I too feel proud of my hertige and MY Corps . Semper Fi Carry on!
Great book. The final chapters were exceptional. Skip Schmidt’s story is a reminder that we have, and will have, a lot of PTSD resulting from Iraq and Afgh. service. Christy, I’m glad you made it home and that your children have had the ability/privilege of reading your story. I was lucky to be able to attend my unit’s reunion two years ago. Best wishes, Barry. Christy, thank you very much for pulling together the information that enabled you to publish “The Twins Platoon”. We briefly met at the Washington County Library event last March, during which time I purchased a copy that you were kind enough to sign. It is an amazing read. It took me back in time, not only to Vietnam, but also to my days at Harding High School, where I was a classmate of; Gerry Baltes, Candi Dupre and a good friend of Medal of Honor recipient, Bob Pruden. The flow of your book was wonderful and a very ‘easy read’. I’m sure you had to edit-out a great deal of information before the book was finally published, but I want you to know ‘The Twins Platoon’ captured the moments perfectly, helping the reader understand what it was like for a bunch of high school guys ‘over there’ and Skip Schmidt’s all too common aftermath. It took far too long, however, the public is finally coming around to recognizing the fact that Vietnam happened, and those that served are deserving of our countries respect. Your book goes a long way to helping people understand our experiences, before, during and after our tours. Thanks again.

Article writing is also a excitement, if you be acquainted with after that you can write
otherwise it is complex to write.

Hello my mate! I need to point out that this text is usually astounding, terrific created and can include roughly beneficial infos.. best lessons online free for beginners I’d like to notice further articles this way .
You really make it seem so easy together with your presentation but I to find this topic to
be really one thing which I think I might by no means understand.
It sort of feels too complex and extremely extensive for me.
I am taking a look ahead to your subsequent post, I will try to get the cling of it!
Have a look at my webpage constant ringing in ears

I hope you remember me because I was your oral and maxillofacial surgeon several years ago. We talked about Vietnam and exchanged some stories of our experiences. I was stationed in Japan at 1000 bad combat hospital from 1966 to 68 the same time you were in country. I can’t remember if you gave me your book or if I bought it doesn’t matter but I know I told you that I would not be reading it until I was retired from surgery and I did so in 2000. Now I have so much time on my hands that I am quite bored and thus I am now reading nonmedical and nonsurgical books to pass the time. I finally finished twins platoon and was so impressed with your skills and telling of your experiences. The last two chapters we’re so emotional for me I could hardly read the words because of the tears in my eyes. And I suspect that I probably took care of people in your platoon. because the 1000 bed 106th General Hospital APO 96503 received 90% of the casualties from Vietnam. I just wanted to touch base with you, and hope that you’re healthy and life is treating you well! If you are ever in Stillwater where I now live, give me a call and maybe we could have lunch and discussion. Jerry Brunsoman DDS, MS.
